For 2023, Cedar Point amusement park (aka, the Roller Coaster Capital of the World!) has upped its festival game with even better food, drinks, and entertainment. Here’s the scoop on everything you need to know about the corn-themed Cedar Point Frontier Festival for 2023!
Okay, I enjoy a good roller coaster as much as anyone else (hello, Tron Lightcycle Run in Walt Disney World), so I know that Cedar Point fans make the drive to Sandusky, Ohio, to spend the day riding coasters from rope drop to close. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take some time out of your day to check out some delicious food and drink, right?
Enter Cedar Point Frontier Festival. It was created with a focus on one theme each year and each season it gets better and better. This year’s theme offers a down-on-the-farm spin on delicious dishes and is well worth a stop.
Festival Tasting Lanyards can either be purchased in advance on the Cedar Point website or at the festival booth in 6 ($39.99) or 10 ($59.99) ticket increments. Apart from a fancy cocktail in a boot mug, each tasting is one ticket and offers a hearty portion of food. Additionally, if you want to bundle your tasting lanyard and ticket together ($59.99), you’ll save on theme park admission as you’ll receive theme park admission, parking, and a three tastings.
Lastly, if you’re a night owl, combine admission, parking and three-sample tasting card for $44.99.
What’s Cedar Point Frontier Festival?
In a nutshell, Cedar Point offers several festivals throughout its open season and one of my favorites is Frontier Festival. With a focus on food and drinks (don’t worry, there’s plenty of live entertainment and games as well), this year’s festival is all-things corn. Add in the fact that Cedar Point is right on the shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky and it’s beauty on beauty with the decorations and westher.
It takes place back in (where else?) Frontier Town, so you’ll need to make a beeline to the back of the park to take in all of the fun. Beginning at noon each day, it runs until 8pm each night.
There are two types of booths: Vittles and Belly Washers. Vittles stations are all about hearty food portions and Belly Washes offers alcoholic beverages including beer and cocktails.

As for the Vittles Stands:
I told you it was all about corn. now, if I had to mention my favorites, compliments of a big sweet tooth they would be the corn ice cream and corn cheesecake. With that aside, the most bang for your ticket buck would have to be the Walking Tacos with nacho chips, beef or chicken, and toppings. Second in line is definitely the Funnel Cake Fries as there has to be a 1/2 pound of fries and sauce!
Cedar Point Frontier Festival 2023 Entertainment
In addition to games like corn hole and crafts for the kiddos, there’s live entertainment on two stages throughout the day. But what I found completely adorable are the roaming characters that really get into the theme and the stick horse races.
And I can’t write about the Frontier Festival without mentioning several booths in Artisan Square filled with local artisans selling their homemade goodies. There’s so much talent in this area!
