Yep, we’ve noticed the autumn decorations flanking the shelves of our local department stores recently and that can only mean one thing: Walt Disney World is getting ready to celebrate fall! And while we we never need an excuse to visit, there are definitely a ton of reasons to make a trip this fall. Just in case you need an excuse, we’re going overboard and not asking why would you want to visit but why wouldn’t you? Here’s 10 terrific reasons to celebrate fall at Walt Disney World:

  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
  • Holidays Around the World & The Candlelight Processional

It’s been a massive year for Epcot, to say the least.  A new Frozen meet and greet with Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus in Norway Pavilion, the “Frozen Ever After” attraction in Norway as well, and “Soarin’ Around the World” in the Living with the Land Pavilion has clinched the theme park crown for most anticipated attractions in a Disney park this year. The debut numbers were off the charts on opening days and for most of this summer, but we can be on one thing: the kiddos back to school means two things- lower temps and lower crowds. We’re ticking off the days to reserve our FastPass+ selections!

Spy Princess Elena of Avalor at Magic Kingdom Park

Elena of Avalor is a Disney Princess that I really wished had been around when my teen daughter was a little girl, She’s bold and sassy and The Kid could have totally related to her. Ahh, but it’s okay. We’ll have the chance to meet her in Magic Kingdom beginning August 2016.

 Club Villain

Check your calendar beginning September 2, 2016- Club Villain is coming back! On Weekend nights through Halloween, Club Villian in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will offer fun food, live entertainment, and cool cocktails. The party is a hard ticket event (a separate cost from daily theme park admission) and there’ll be two parties per night at 5:15pm and 8:30pm.

The Great Irish Hooley 2016

Raglan Road Dancers Walt Disney World

We’ve never attended The Great Irish Hooley at Raglan Road Irish Pub in Disney Springs but it’s on our bucket list. This autumn, the massive party filled with drinks, food, and dancing will be from September 2-5, 2016. If you haven’t made a reservation yet and want to go, do it now. The weekend is super popular.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Main Street U.S.A.

Also on September 2, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party makes is debut this year. Definitely our fave special event, this is our chance to dress up as our favorite Disney character, trick or treat, catch The Sanderson Sisters in Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular on the Castle Stage and HalloWishes Fireworks, and have aching cheeks and jaws from smiling and laughing so much.

Disney’s Night of Joy 2016

Another super popular event, Disney’s Night of Joy, the two-night event is filled with contemporary Christian music. This year, Night of Joy will be at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and will offer a FanFest, food trucks, and premium seating.

For two solid months, September 2-November 2, 2016, Epcot is filled with delicious food and drink for its International Food & Wine Festival. Special features include our favorite Eat to the Beat Concert Series, Global Marketplaces, culinary demos, and a down right good time.

Magic Kingdom Park’s 45th Anniversary

We so want to make a special trip to Magic Kingdom for this one! If you’re anywhere near the park on October 1, 2016, make sure to visit to help Walt Disney World celebrate its 45th Anniversary. Special edition anniversary clothing items and trading pins will be available and the ambiance is sure to be so good we can’t wait to see photos.

Yep, I know we’re talking about autumn events in Walt Disney World, but the Christmastime fun starts on November 7, 2016! Even though the temps may be sweltering, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom is the time of year that it actually snows on Main Street, U.S.A. The hard ticket event is filled with holiday merriment, the party includes Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, cocoa and cookies, and Christmas-themed meet and greets.

Holidays Around the World & The Candlelight Processional

Presented in the America Gardens Theatre at Epcot, Candlelight Processional is one of the most beloved holiday traditions at Walt Disney World Resort. Featuring a joyous retelling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a glorious mass choir, this festive performance takes place annually in November and December.
