Here me out on this one. Yes, the sun will be in your face if you score a southwest-facing view of the game, but you’ll get to see a stadium sunset. Grab a seat on the opposite side of the Pittsburgh Pirates stadium, aka PNC Park, and you can watch the light dim over the Sister Bridges.

Beautiful Places to Watch Sunsets in Pittsburgh – Smithfield Street Bridge

The Smithfield Street Bridge connects the Station Square area to Downtown Pittsburgh and it’s highly walkable. Head across it when the sun is setting and you’ll score photos of the Fort Pitt Bridge glowing.

Gorgeous Places to Watch Sunsets in Pittsburgh – Kennywood Park

Kennywood Park in West Mifflin has plenty of photo-worthy spots but if you hit the timing just right, a ride on the Kennywood Turtle ride at sunset will provide gorgeous sunset views of the Monongahela River Valley.

Amazing Places to Watch Sunsets in Pittsburgh – Point State Park

Point State Park is right at the confluence of three rivers (Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio) and sitting right on the park’s edge during a sunset is not only lovely, it’s fun! So many events including Fourth of July, Three Rivers Arts Festival, and the River Regatta take place in that very park (and are free admission!) so grab a blanket or fold-up chair and admire the scenery and sunset all at the same time.

Best Places to Watch Sunsets in Pittsburgh – Mount Washington

Think about romantic spots in and around Pittsburgh and Mount Washington will always be on the very top of the list. There’s two options to get there: drive or take and incline. The Duquesne Incline has a pretty viewing platform complete with pay binoculars but feel free to walk outside and stroll along Grandview Avenue.

Places to Watch Sunsets in Pittsburgh – Mr. Rogers Statue

If you want to see Mount Washington from a different side, take a stroll on the North Shore and check out a sunset with Mr. Rogers. Not only a Pittsburgh hometown hero and beloved television figure, the Fred Rogers’ tribute is beautiful any time of day – but at sunset it’s extra special.

Places to Watch Sunsets in Pittsburgh – Southside Works

I never realized how beautiful the city is from the Southside of Pittsburgh until I was eating at Hofbrauhaus just as the sun was setting. There’s a lit path along the Monongahela River perfect for strolls and sunset views.
