the wilds sunrise photography

Traveling as a family is one of my proudest accomplishments. Why? Because, even with a 13-year old daughter, we all not only love each other, she still likes us. There are times, however, when The Kid simply can’t go on trips with Mr. Locke and me.   Last weekend was one of those times. We spent the weekend in Nomad Ridge at The Wilds– Central Ohio’s answer to safari expeditions. We stayed in a yurt, enjoyed fabulous meals at the Overlook Cafe, and woke up super early on Sunday…

Sunrise in Fort Wayne, Indiana #FortWayne

sunrise in fort wayne

Getting up to watch the sun rise in a city we’ve traveled to makes me happy. Very happy. If you’ve ever visited the lodge, you know how gorgeous the…

Room with a View: Sunrise at Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh

Omni William Penn Hotel

Waking up early during our travels is always a highlight of our trip no matter where it happens to be. I adore taking photos from our hotel or resort room windows and catching the sunrise on buildings or landscape. Remembering why I took this picture is easy. We were visiting Pittsburgh for its annual Light-up Night and were calling the Omni William Penn Hotel home for a couple of nights. I woke up and turned over, opened my eyes, and there it was. That beautiful, golden sun casting its rays…
