Cowboys don’t just linger as memories in Texas, they thrive and make for an authentic experience in Fort Worth, also known as Cowtown. Kickstart your visit at Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District where wooden sidewalks, cattle drives and honky-tonk bars will transport you back in time to frontier days. Don’t miss the twice daily cattle drive for added authenticity. When night falls, slip out the boots for Billy Bob’s Texas, its largest honky-tonk where live music meets Texas charm for another thrilling Texas experience!

If music runs deep through your veins, Austin is the place for you. Renowned as the “Live Music Capital of the World”, Austin boasts an eclectic range of genres and venues. You could catch a show at Stubb’s BBQ where smoky food pairs perfectly with toe-tapping tunes. Stroll down Sixth Street where talented bands line bars. Or visit Continental Club where legendary artists have graced its stage.

Exploring Texas: Relive Texas History in San Antonio

Dive back in time by exploring San Antonio’s iconic landmarks like The Alamo, which immortalizes a pivotal battle of the Texas Revolution. Afterward, relax among modern marvels on San Antonio River Walk’s bustling network of waterways lined with cafes, shops and greenery. Take a boat ride at sunset for an unforgettable view.

Side note: I’ve had the pleasure of visiting San Antonio several times, compliments of my older brother living there since the early 1980s. If I could only share one city to visit in Texas, it’s San Antonio. I adore the attractions (The Riverwalk is a must!), the people, and the fact that Tejano music star, Selena, had a boutique there. It’s been one of my favorite cities since I was a child, and will continue to be for decades to come.
