Bayfront Resort at Cross View is more than just a place to stay; it’s a family-friendly haven nestled along the picturesque Sandusky Bay. This luxury RV resort and cottage complex offers an unparalleled blend of comfort, convenience, and entertainment, making it the perfect choice for your next family vacation. This summer, I had the pleasure of calling it home for a night. Here’s a firsthand peek at my experience.
Bayfront Resort: A Home Away From Home
Whether you prefer the rugged (yes, for me it’s rugged.) charm of RV camping or the cozy comforts of a cottage, Bayfront Resort has you covered. The large RV sites with full hook-ups are big enough for even the largest rigs, while the fully furnished cottages offer modern amenities and plenty of room for the whole family.
While my “whole family” dynamic was me and my daughter, there was plenty of room in our cottage for three times as many guests. It had a full bathroom, all linens and towels necessary for our visit, and even laundry detergent.
If I had to choose my favorite things about the cabin, they’re these:
A washer and dryer – Sure, we were only there one night but it was nice to do our laundry and not have to worry about it when we got home.
The loft – I didn’t sleep in the upstairs area, but my adult daughter did and she loved it.
The covered porch – I adored waking up early in the morning and watching the water fowl float across the bay.
Worthy of note: For the cabins, there’s a minimum of two nights booked to make a reservation. Additionally, if you have a furry baby, Cabin #29 allows one dog under 25 pounds. An additional charge will apply to your reservation.
On-Site Amenities
One of the standout features of Bayfront Resort is the fact that it was made for family vacations. The resort boasts an outdoor pool, and it’s perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. Kids can splash and play while parents relax on the lounge chairs. The modern clubhouse provides a gathering space for family game nights or simply unwinding with a good book.
A Gateway to Adventure
Bayfront Resort is ideally located to explore all that Sandusky and the surrounding area have to offer. Thrill-seekers will love the proximity to Cedar Point, (it’s only 2 1/2 miles away). Honestly, with no traffic, we were in the parking lot in roughly five minutes.
If you want to visit Sandusky proper, it’s roughly 1 1/2 miles from the entrance. Additionally, Castaway Bay, Cedar Point’s waterpark, is only two miles away.
If you’re looking for outdoor adventures, Sports Force Parks and the Cedar Point Sports Center are just a short drive away as well.
A Peaceful Retreat
Despite its convenient location to the hustle and bustle of the city and theme park, Bayfront Resort offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The stunning waterfront views provide a backdrop no matter what time of day. Whether it’s roasting marshmallows around a campfire (we had our own pit on the side of the cabin), fishing from the dock, or simply enjoying a stroll along the shoreline, it’s a beautiful spot to simply… be.
I know my visit was at the beginning of summer, but I noticed no noise at all when we were inside the cabin. I feel everyone was all about the serenity of the area and the bay.
