If you want to travel to Miami, then you will know what a fun and exciting experience it can be. With that said, you need to ensure that you are aware of what there is to do and what there is to see.

There’s More than the Beach

The first thing you need to do is remember that there is more to Miami than the beach. If you are quite an outdoorsy person, then you will know that there is plenty you can do to keep yourself busy. You can go to the state parks that are nearby, or you can even check out the national parks that are nearby. If you go to town, then you will find some great neighbourhoods nearby as well. What really makes Miami stand out from the rest is that there is a really big blend of international influences. You may find that there are also some Caribbean and Latin American restaurants, too, especially if you go to neighbourhoods like Little Havana. If you want to branch out a little, then you should also take the time to check out Upsun Hotel’s rooftop pool near Miami Beach, as this is a great way for you to unwind and take it easy for a little while.
Avoid Spring Break

You also need to make sure that you avoid spring break. Miami is a great destination all year-round, but at the same time, there are curfews during spring break. You may also have to pay higher parking fees, and you will struggle to get the best experience. If you want to stop this from being the case, then it’s a good idea for you to try and visit Miami when it’s a little quieter. You can then avoid the crowds, and you can also make sure that you’re not having to push your way through the streets.
Summer Rain is Common

Another thing to know is that summer rain is very common in Miami. In fact, you should expect rain every day, and pack accordingly. Sure, there are plenty of things to do if it is raining, and you may also find that there are plenty of shaded spots, but if you don’t pack for the bad weather, then you may find that you end up struggling to relax and have the best time. Remember that South Florida is a very tropical destination, and afternoon showers in the summertime are common.
You should also know that public transport is limited. Since the city is really developed around cars, you may find that points of interest are spread far apart and that sometimes there isn’t always public transport to help you get to where you need to be. You do have Miami International Airport, though, which is connected to Downtown. This is great to say the least, and it allows you to travel quickly. If you need to go elsewhere or if you have a specific thing you’d like to see, then you may want to try and book a taxi.
