Mooresville, North Carolina, often dubbed “Race City USA,” offers far more than just high-octane thrills. Nestled in the heart of Lake Norman, this charming town provides a fantastic backdrop for a relaxing and fun-filled girls’ getaway. From pampering spa treatments to unique shopping (including vintage!) finds and delicious dining, Mooresville has something for every gal in your group. Here’s a guide to the best things to do on a Mooresville girls’ getaway from a gal who’s been there before.

A Perfect Mooresville Girls’ Getaway: Indulge in Relaxation and Pampering
A girls’ trip isn’t complete without some serious unwinding, and Mooresville, North Carolina, delivers with options for ultimate relaxation. Two local spas come highly recommended:
Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa: This popular spa offers a wide range of services, from full-body massages (Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone) to rejuvenating facials. It’s the perfect spot to melt away stress and leave feeling refreshed.
Haven Head Spa: For a truly unique and luxurious experience, consider a visit to Haven Head Spa. They specialize in custom head spa treatments that include scalp analysis, detoxifying shampoos with massage, deep exfoliation, and water therapy. It’s a deeply relaxing and revitalizing experience for your hair and mind.
Explore Local Charm and Unique Modern and Vintage Shopping

Mooresville’s downtown area and surrounding spots offer distinctive shopping opportunities that go beyond typical retail. I, personally, love to check out local vintage shops when I’m in a new city, and I was not disappointed.
Main Street Antiques & Design Gallery: Housed in a former textile mill, this massive gallery has nearly 500 vendors spread across 160,000 square feet. You can spend hours here browsing antiques, shopping for vintage goods and local art, buying clothing, selecting jewelry, and looking for handcrafted items. It’s a treasure trove for unique finds and gifts. During my visit, I found everything from true antiques to Loungefly bags that were no longer in stock.
Merino Mill: This historic textile mill has been revitalized into a vibrant hub. Beyond the antiques gallery, it often features unique shops, restaurants, and a fun, upbeat atmosphere.
The Perfect Dress: If your getaway includes a special event or you simply love modern fashion, The Perfect Dress offers a unique shopping experience with a variety of dresses from popular designers. The goal at this shop is to make dress shopping a delightful and un-rushed experience, so feel free to peruse and take your time.
Crazy Cool Collectibles: For a truly offbeat and fun shopping experience, visit Crazy Cool Collectibles. This store is a wonderland of pop culture memorabilia, vintage toys, and unique finds. Dubbed a “memorabilia emporium,” if they don’t have it, they’ll help you find it.
Downtown Mooresville Boutiques: Stroll through historic downtown Mooresville and discover smaller, independent retail shops that offer a curated selection of clothing, home goods, and gifts. I love shopping local when I’m visiting a new place, and downtown doesn’t disappoint.
A Perfect Mooresville Girls’ Getaway: Embrace the Lake Norman Lifestyle

Being on Lake Norman, Mooresville offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water, whether it’s above or in it.
Lake Norman Exploration: Rent a pontoon boat for a leisurely cruise, try paddleboarding, or simply find a scenic spot to enjoy the views. There are various rental companies available. On my visit, some pals and I took an Island Vibe Charter Sunset Cruise, and it was perfect. Including dessert, it was two hours on the water with fun music and plenty of Lake Norman history.
Lake Norman State Park: If your group enjoys being active, Lake Norman State Park offers over 30 miles of wooded hiking and mountain biking trails.
Perfect Mooresville Girls’ Getaway: More Fun Mooresville Activities

Carrigan Farms: Depending on the season, Carrigan Farms offers unique experiences. In the summer, you can swim in their natural quarry, and in the fall, they offer apple and pumpkin picking. They also have seasonal events. I had the pleasure of swimming at Carrigan Farms on my recent visit, and it was a hoot! While it was the first open weekend, and the water was still chilly, I loved the fact that the property offers complimentary life jackets for use in the local swimming hole, so all I had to do was leisurely float around.
The Pit Indoor Kart Racing: For a dose of adrenaline and friendly competition, The Pit offers indoor go-kart racing, laser tag, and mini-golf. I’m a competitive person by nature, so the idea of getting my girls together to race and score points via laser tag is up my proverbial street.
Memory Lane Museum: If any of your friends are interested in automotive history, this museum showcases a vast collection of classic cars, racing memorabilia, and vintage motorcycles. The vehicles are beautifully restored and the history is plentiful.
Where to Stay in Mooresville, NC, for a Girls’ Getaway

During my and my daughter’s visit to Mooresville, NC, we had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte Mooresville hotel. Not only was my king bed super comfy, there was plenty of room to add in a roll away bed for the kiddo.
Additionally, coffee and tea were always available in the lobby, a popcorn machine was operational at night for an after-dinner snack, and the property featured an indoor pool, fitness center, and laundry room. With free parking, free wifi, and the ability to add on breakfast, it’s a no-brainer place to stay.
