When I think Disney, the first thing that comes to mind is exceptional animation. So, it makes absolute perfect sense that 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts is getting ready to kick off.  This year, there’s more “new” and more things to see and do than ever before, so let’s dive right in!

Disclosure: I attended a media preview of the 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts to give you the scoop. A huge thanks to Walt Disney World for the invite!

Just so you don’t have to dig, 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts takes place this year from Friday, January 15 through Monday, February 24. With valid Epcot admission, you’ll have access to creative culinary dishes, beautiful art creations, and opportunities to upgrade your experience by actually participating.

As in the past, Figment is a giant part of Festival of the Arts. Having the chance to check out some of the merchandise for this year, it’s vibrantly colorful.

2020 Epcot New Shows

On January 17th, Walt Disney World is debuting three new shows at Epcot and I had a chance to preview two of them: Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along in France Pavilion and Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360.

Let’s start with Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along. It’s classic Disney animation style with a twist: what if LeFou was responsible for pairing up Belle and Beast? It has humorous parts, plenty of singing, and it’s just long enough to tell the story and join in.

Far and Wide in Canada Pavilion is just beautiful. The show highlights popular Canadian points of interest and is narrated by Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy. It really is worth seeing at least once.

Lastly, a new show called “Awesome Planet”, replacing Circle of Life in the Land Pavilion, will help guests understand and learn about the uniqueness of our planet. Seasoned nature cinematographers were used to to tour the earth’s different biomes and show how healthy biomes equal a healthy balance.

Narrated by Ty Burrell, the show will be a fun respite from the hustle and bustle of touring the park and will definitely teach us a thing or two – or 20.

A Tale as Old as Time

Tale as Old as Time: French Storytelling on Stage and Screen

If you’ve never moseyed around the pavilions in World Showcase and checked out the art displays, you really should consider it one day. I love learning about each of the 11 countries through its art.

This year, Tale as Old as Time: French Storytelling on Stage and Screen makes its debut in France Pavilion. The gallery includes costumes and props from Disney films (“Beauty and the Beast” movie props are definitely worth a look!), French ballets and operas, and musicals, too.

If there’s one thing I took away from the exhibit was the attention to detail that goes into the gorgeous costumes. Wow!

2020 Festival of the Arts Food

Alright, time to dig right in and highlight creative food offerings. When I think about beautiful food, dessert always comes to mind. And this year’s festival has everything from cake with a modern art spin to pretty boba drinks.
