Sure, a stay at Hershey Lodge can add up. But, take into account all of the free things at Hershey Lodge and I can definitely see where the value sets in. A recent stay at the Hersheypark hotel (and a big walk around!) let me see for myself all of the free fun to be had. From must-haves to activities to off-property complimentary admissions, here are 12 hefty freebies at Hershey Lodge!
Disclosure: I was graciously hosted by the fine folks at Hershey Lodge because I’m a Sweetest Family member! All opinions are my own!
Hershey Lodge is one of those properties that you really should experience at least once. With a gorgeous, rustic theme, it’s filled with immersive touches and plenty of things to do.
And if I’m being honest, it’s a place that you could absolutely take a non-park day and spend your entire time checking out its amenities. But, when it comes to free things at Hershey Lodge there’s definitely not a loss. Here are my 11 favorites.
By far, having free, unlimited use of Hershey’s Water Works is the top freebie. It’s not a huge water park, but it is decently sized. To add to the immersion of Hersheypark and Hershey, PA, the attractions have fun Hershey candy names like the Twizzlers Twist Water Slide.
If you’re planning on exploring the area, here’s a list of fun things to in Hershey, PA!
Early Park Admission
Hershey Lodge offers a one hour early Hersheypark Sweet Start® for guests staying on property and visiting the park. You’ll need to show Hershey lodge identification to enter early.
Outside near Water Works (and near the outdoor pool) is a fun, 18-hole mini golf course. All you need to do is show your room key and you’ll get unlimited play.
Hershey Gardens Passes
Hershey Gardens is a gorgeous respite from the theme park. Opened in 1937, it’s filled with picturesque spots to sit and admire, but my favorite is the Butterfly Atrium. Free admission tickets are included in a Hershey Lodge stay. You’ll receive them when you check in.
The Hershey Story Museum Passes
A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting The Hershey Story Museum. It’s filled with hands on exhibits and shares the story of Mr, Chocolate himself, Milton Hershey. Again, you’ll receive a complimentary pass to the museum for each person in your room when you check in.
Kids Craft Sessions
At check-in, look for the activities board for free kids crafts. Times and crafts change daily.
Each night, a fie pit is available for making s’mores. Kits can be purchased in the sundries shops.
I LOVE this one! Kids have their own check-in in the lobby area. They get to sign an official check-in book & join in on a guessing game. But, the funnest is the sweet treat they get when done.
Tennis & Basketball Courts
Pretty explanatory, but there are both tennis and basketball courts for guest use.
When you’re all checked in, be prepared for some chocolate! We received a few Hershey Bars to eat at our leisure.
Great freebie here. If I had my way, all lodging parking would be free but that’s not the case. For Hershey Lodge, guests receive free parking – yay!
We had zero problems connecting to the free wifi during our stay.
