Ready to head to Walt Disney World but not exactly sure what’s included in the price of a ticket? From admission to transportation (and shows in between!), here’s what’s included in a Walt Disney World park ticket!

Disney Hollywood Studios

I remember planning my first Walt Disney World vacation. And, while locking down accommodations and dining was one thing, figuring out which type of park ticket to choose was one of the hardest decisions. I mean, will we want to go from park to park in the same day? Will one park per day be ideal? Yeah…

So, to make it easier for you, here’s the scoop on WDW theme park tickets and what you get with each one.

What Are the Types of Walt Disney World Tickets?

Let’s start with this big question. There are two types of WDW tickets, not to mention Annual Passes.

Base Tickets – Each day, you’ll get access to one park. This style of ticket is great for folks that like to conquer one park every day and stick with it.

Park Hopper – More expensive than Base Tickets, Park Hoppers give you access to all four WDW theme parks each day. You can also add Water Park & mini golf admission to your ticket for an extra charge. You may park hop to and from:

  • Magic Kingdom
  • Epcot
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Military – A specially-discounted Park Hopper ticket for members of the military and their families.

Keep in mind: WDW has changed the pricing of their park tickets just last week.  Here’s the scoop on three things you’ll be paying more for at Disney World in 2019.

What’s Included in a Walt Disney World Park Ticket?

In addition to theme park admission, you get the following:

Free Transportation – you may take any form of WDW transportation including boats, motorcoaches, and Monorail.

FastPass+ Selections – FastPass+ is a way to bypass the standby queue. While it probably won’t get you straight to the front of the line, it will get you pretty close. You may choose three to start and then, once depleted, you may add one at a time.

The first three must be in the same theme park. After that, you may select one at another park and continue with this method. Tip: In order to use FastPass+ in more than one park on the same day, you need to have Park Hopper Tickets.

Shows and Parades – All parades and shows are included in theme park admission. At this time, Magic Kingdom is the only park offering parades. When you visit each, park, ask for a Times Guide to find out times. You can also check the My Disney Experience App.

Interactive Games – Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure are just two of the free interactive games included with theme park admission.

2018 Disney World Annual Pass Discounts and benefits

Can you Upgrade to an Annual Pass?

As long as you have at least one day left on your WDW park ticket, you may upgrade it. The original price of the ticket will be deducted from the price of the Annual Pass and your 12-month pass start date will begin on the first date you used your ticket.

In general, if you’re planning on being at the Walt Disney World parks at least 10 days in a calendar year, an Annual Pass will pay for itself in park tickets alone. Add in dining discounts, free parking, and merchandise discounts and you’ll save even more.

Is a Walt Disney World Annual Pass for you? Here’s the scoop to help you decide.

What’s Not Included in a Walt Disney World Park Ticket

I’m sure you probably know these, but just in case, here’s what’s not included:

  • Parking
  • Dining
  • Stroller Rental
  • Snacks
