When it comes to online mattresses, quality, comfort, and price matters for me. Next, I’m all about ease of unboxing, especially if I’m doing it by myself. Lastly, I want one made from good things because I’m putting my face on it (I’m a side/stomach sleeper). If you, like me, sleep on your stomach and want to know if my Sweetnight mattress is up to snuff ? Here’s the scoop.
Sweetnight Gel Memory Foam Mattress: The Basics
If you get hot or sweaty in during the night, you have may read up on the benefits of gel-infused memory foam. I am one of those gals that love a ton of blankets when I sleep, but don’t like the overly-toasty feel of them. So, I want the best of both worlds: weight without feeling like I’m in a sauna.
Add in the fact that I wanted a non-spring mattress this time around and I opted in for the 12-inch Gel Memory Foam King mattress. I already had the king bed frame, so that was a no brainer.
With Sweetnight, its 3-layer, memory “air flow” foam mattresses are gel-infused, so I did notice a significant difference in regard to my body temperature. There’s no too hot, too cold, kicking off the blankets in the middle of the night issues for me.
Sweetnight mattresses are made to be flippable and the rayon (translation: super soft) cover unzips so it can be washed, which I adore. I, personally, like to use a mattress cover for extra protection, but the idea that you can take the original cover off and wash it is highly appealing. Having written that, the gel memory foam is only on one side.
Also worth noting: on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being super firm), the mattress hits at a 6, so right in the sweet spot that most folks enjoy. And by most folks, me.

After a successful (and free!) delivery, I really wanted to get it unboxed to test drive, but I was the only one available to do it so, like any other ambitious mattress owner, I did it myself. Yes, I unboxed and set up a 12-inch king mattress by myself:
Of course, you do you, but for me, it really was simple. The mattress began inflating immediately and we were able to sleep on it the first night with no issues. Yes, it was softer than it is now, but it was still very comfortable.
Truly, you should give it a full 72 hours for full inflation to really get the real feel out of it. Once it was fully inflated, I had no issues with sagging corners or low spots, either. If you have any issues, the company offers 24/7 customer service.
But What About the Materials and Scent?
Yes, I do my research when it comes to mattresses and that includes what I’m putting near my face. Sweetnight mattresses are:
- CertiPUR-US Certified foam
- Made without harmful substances like formaldehyde, mercury, and other heavy metals
Without having to look up definitions, it means I’m sleeping on safe, high-quality materials. But what about organic? Yep. They’re also environmentally friendly, too.
As for a scent when it was unboxed, yes, there was one. It was not offensive in any way and dissipated after 24 hours or so.

So, here’s where I put my review to the test: would I absolutely purchase a Sweetnight 12-inch Gel Memory Foam mattress? Yep.
I find myself not tossing and turning about, and I’m definitely not overheated at night. It was super easy to unbox, offers a good warranty, and is made from safe materials so I feel safe sleeping on it.
