Next month, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is turning 125 years old and it’s celebrating! Melding the past with the present, it’s having the party of the century and I can’t wait to check it out. Here’s the scoop on Phipps at 125 details, how to buy tickets, and what you can expect.
I love showcasing Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on this site. It’s a must-see place to visit for first-time visitors to Pittsburgh, in my opinion. It’s also the place we really look forward to visiting around Christmas and, of course, when spring is in the air. So, it’s a no-brainer for us to head to Phipps next month to help celebrate its 125th with the Conservatory.
Phipps at 125: The Details
Celebrating Phipps at 125 is a way for the Conservatory to showcase its past, its present, and the future ahead. If you’ve been following along with Phipps, the Palm Court and Glasshouse are undergoing a huge renovation. While the Glasshouse is still being worked on, Phipps at 125 will showcase the completed restoration of the gorgeous Palm Court.

What Should I Wear for Phipps at 125?
According to the official Phipps website, “Whatever makes you feel especially fabulous! Guests are encouraged to dress in the evening wear of their favorite period in time from 1893 to today!” Translation: If you love a particular period, go for it! If you’re not sure where to look for retro wear, I can never go wrong with Amazon.
Of course, modern elegance will never be turned away. Also, any excuse to dress up AND dress retro and I’m on board.
What Can I Expect for Phipps at 125?
Plenty! It will offer entertainment and dancing, plentiful food and drink, and interactive experiences representing Phipps from the 1890s through today.
There are also promises of stops in the Glasshouse to revel and rejoice in the fact that Phipps is 125 years young.

Tickets are $125 per person, which includes all food and drink.
Tickets are also available at the $250 level. Yes, the upgraded level is twice as much, but it will help to support our ongoing glasshouse restoration project. You’ll also get a special recognition in the event program book.
