Each month my family falls in love with new products. Products we cant get enough of, want more of, and all around dig. The month of October was pretty spectacular in regards to travel, tech, makeup, books, and foodie goodies. Looking for November inspiration? Here’s the things we loved in October.
Mr. Locke ordered his the week the iPhone 7 was released and received it in early October. His 7+ has a much lager screen (similar to my iPhone 6s+), is water resistant, and has a massive storage capacity (his is 128 GB). His favorite feature? It’s smoking fast.
Hills Bros. Coffee Compostable Pods
We can’t get enough of this coffee brand (check out our summer products edition!) and how it’s helping to save the planet one compostable coffee pod at a time. Hills Bros. Coffee blends are rich and tasty and the varieties can’t be beat. We had the pleasure of meeting the folks from the company at Blogger Bash NYC and fell in love with their mantra as well as their coffee.
Carmel Honey Company
An 11-year old started Carmel Honey Company compliments of a love of honey bees. now 13, JakeReisdorf is all about delivering honey to the masses and his “Jake Gives Back” program gives a part of the company’s proceeds to expanding research and education efforts of honey bees and honey. I love the Orange blossom variety in my morning tea.
Four Roses Bourbon
Another company we had the pleasure of meeting, Four Roses Bourbon has become a fave of Mr. Locke. As he improves with age, so does the style of liquor he chooses. Whiskey Magazine named the company the American Distiller of the Year for four years (2015 included!) and the handcrafted bourbon company has 10 recipes to keep us warm through winter.
I totally forget these delicious chocolate miniatures exist until September – then I spend all October indulging. Classic flavors like Special Dark and Mr. Goodbar (can you even find it in full size any more?) bring out the inner child in me and unwrapping those mini chocolate bars is a memory I’ll gladly enjoy once a year.
Wonderland Official unBirthday Tea
This delicious blend of tea was technically discovered during our April visit to Walt Disney World and we downed it like you’d never seen. We even began rationing the loose leaf variety so we could enjoy it until our next visit which just so happened to be at the end of October. We learned out lesson to only buy on package and came home with several on this last trip! The fruity, smooth blend is perfect for the morning or anytime during the day as long as you can handle the caffeine.
It’s truly hard to get enough of this product in the Locke house: a melt-in-your-mouth texture and a taste that’s, dare we write, better than its original form, Crispy Fruit knocked our socks of this summer and continues to do so this autumn. The Kid loves the tangerine (think cheesy poofs but sweeter) and Asian Pear styles, and it’s a product we can throw in our purse or backpack and enjoy on the go- and we did last month at Walt Disney World!
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
This one was a birthday gift in early October and I love how it’s still in the style of a play. The story takes place in the future where Hermione is Minister for Magic and my fave wizard, Harry, once again finds trouble – but this time it’s with his son. I haven’t made it to the end yet, but only because I want to savor every word.
tarte Holiday Kits
As soon as I hear a peep that the new holiday makeup kits have hit the store shelves, I make a bee line for Sephora and Ulta to grab a few. This October was the perfect month to score the tarte Pretty Paintbox. A fine travel staple, it has a little bit of everything (including some fab eyeshadow colors!) so all I have to do is throw a foundation and concealer in my travel bag and I’m good to go. There’s three other tarte holiday sets on my fave list as well.
