On our visit to Columbia, SC, last week, we were treated to a trip to the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens. We hit the zoo at rope drop and had an opportunity to check out the large mammals including this gorgeous Siamang.
The largest species in the Gibbon family, Siamangs love to mark their territory by dueting with other Siamang. The booms and barks can be heard for miles- including the entire zoo!
I got lucky and caught this Siamang mid-call during our morning visit.
