As an Ohio resident, I find myself dreaming of warmer climates come winter. Yes, snow is beautiful during the winter months and we are lucky to have loads of winter sports that go along with the snow. Yes, I love to see my daughter’s smiling face when we are all bundled up and making snowmen in our yard. But, on cold, snowy days like today my mind and body long for sand beneath my toes. Lately, when I reminisce of our beach vacations, I am compelled to talk about our latest respite to warmer climates: St. Simons Island and our stay at King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort.
Through my travels with Trekaroo, my family and I were extremely lucky and honored to visit King and Prince in early October. During our complimentary stay, we walked on the velvety beach, played in nearby tide pools, ate leisurely meals at The King’s Tavern, and simply relaxed. Relaxation. It’s very rare in my family’s life and hectic daily schedule that the word “relaxation” is used. Our stay in an oceanfront room was so relaxing that we left refreshed and energized. Seriously.
This winter, King and Prince is undergoing a major renovation that will make the fabulous resort even more, well, fabulous! In honor of their “makeover”, King and Prince has partnered with Delta Airlines and created a winter 2014 makeover vacation special. Between January 11-15 and February 8-11, vacationers can fly from Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta directly to Brunswick Golden Isles airport for under $188.00 roundtrip including fees! A stay at King and Prince during this winter special is only $129.00 per night and a free round of golf at their award-winning course is included in the price. Contact Delta directly for flight information and www.kingandprince.com for hotel accommodations.
The kid loved every second of our visit as well. I judge our vacations by her willingness to leave a vacation spot and she did not want to go! While we were packing up the car she was already making suggestions for our next trip back!
So, while the kid and I look out our living room window at the beautiful snowflakes coming down this afternoon, I’ll smile and ask her if she has any suggestions for our “next trip back”.
Enjoy the weather, no matter where you are.
